Josephine Langbehn is a dancer, artist, and arts educator from Omaha, Nebraska. She holds a BA in art education and an MA in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Josephine has taught in the public schools for 13 years and is currently teaching K-5 elementary visual art for the Gretna Public Schools. She has also taught art education at the middle level for 10 years in the Omaha Public Schools. Along with teaching in visual art, she teaches private art lessons and with swing dance lessons in the Omaha community. Josephine’s paintings have been exhibited in regional exhibitions across the state of Nebraska and in the Midwest. She has been studying, practicing, performing and teaching historic jazz dance for 20 years. She has had the opportunity to learn vernacular jazz dance from originals’ and top instructors. In 2015 she was selected as the Outstanding Art Educator of the Year for the state of Nebraska by the Nebraska Art Teachers Association, and is also currently serving co-past president for the Nebraska Art Teachers Association.
